Reuters - A man who hoped to pop the question to his girlfriend with a helium balloon instead watched his plans float into the sky.
Doh! Remember what it felt like as a child when you lost a balloon? And watched it float away until it was a tiny speck, headed toward Pluto (back when Pluto was a planet)?
Talk about deflated dreams.
I wonder if she said "yes."

I heard the girlfriend got MAD and told him to get another ring, quick.
If that's true, then the balloon seems like providence. She doesn't sound like a great catch, does she?
Too bad the guy's lost all that money. I think it's sweet ~ though you have to wonder, why'd he let go of the balloon? Maybe it's all a lie and there never was a ring at all?
I'm so cynical. I'm going to go pick flowers and get back in touch with my romantic side...
